An art director came to the uni to talk to my students on AI use (promoting it) and it took every fibre of restraint inside me not to burst out laughing when he showed them how to “prompt without violating copyright law” and his example was literally toothless from dreamworks.

It’s definitely scummy and scabby of the blender foundation to accept anthropic’s blood money, but sadly they are not the first evil corporation to sponsor the development fund. That said, no sponsor has ever had any say or input on blender’s development or pipeline, so…there’s that I guess.

Seeing more and more AI slop also here on Bluesky, very realistic, very plausible looking videos crafted to harvest engagement - cute looking pets, dogs helping cats, etc. If it looks too good to be true it probably is. Be sceptical, don't share unless you're sure, and if in doubt block it.
