It happened again, believe it or not. I'm beginning to wonder if there are some other closet zoos in that class, who keep starting these conversations under the guise of hatred. I kept my head down until the subject changed, drawing four-pointed stars in the margins of my notes. It still hurts.

Sex-positive movements should 100% be respectful and inclusive to ace-spectrum/sex-repulsed folks. It is never Likes Sex vs. Dislikes Sex, it is Those who accept and respect diverse sexual identities vs. Those who want others to conform and be 'normal.'

Friendly reminder that you, yes you reading this, are so so important to the movements and communities you belong to. You may think you're 'just one person,' but please trust me when I say that your continued existence and powerful voice are more valuable weapons against bigotry than you could know.

I often forget just how hated zoos are. The subject came up today, in class. Pure disgust from every other student in the room at the mere mention of zoophilia. I laughed it off, halfheartedly pretending to agree. It was such a slap to the face. I am not safe among my peers. And that really hurts.

It really is fascinating how differently people treat sex, vs every other animal urge and experience. One of the most natural, diverse, and beautifully raw aspects of existence, and all we do is label it and shame others for doing it wrong. Sex is only as mystical and polarizing as we make it.

Pornographic art is art. Kink/fetish art is art. Vent art is art. That edgelord OC made by a 12-year-old trying to find themself? Art. Art that you don't understand is art. Art that you find unappealing is art. Art that you think is pointless, tasteless, stupid, is art. It's not ours to define.

Once you internalize that the feelings, emotions, and pain of other animals are as important and real as your own then not just animal agriculture, but also fires and floods and droughts and famines become horrors difficult to bear.

I love ao3 because there's so little purity culture. Sure, you'll see the occasional hate comment, but for the most part folks will simply tag out the stuff they don't want to see and leave the authors alone. With the internet so full of anti-fic sentiment, ao3 is a breath of fresh air.

Cringing back at my past self, remembering I used to watch those YT videos where Some Guy™️ would make fun of para tweets while almost intentionally misunderstanding every point made. I think it was a way for me to subconsciously see zoo content without admitting to myself that I wanted to.

I was thinking about an anime dating sim where you could date nonhumans, but then I realized that most dating sims are dialogue-centric, and making one full of characters that communicate via body language would result in the entire thing being in parentheses

For a moment, one shining moment, bluesky was a happy place. If I'm banned, I'll probably make an alt, but I'd be less active on it until things improve around here. In the meantime, I plan to create a discord account, and possibly start a server for the awesome people I've met here. Stay tuned.

Just remembered that time I went to robotics camp in like third grade and we were supposed to 'dissect' a robot dog to see the stuff inside, and I started sobbing hysterically because I couldn't bring myself to 'hurt' something that looked so much like a dog. The other kids all made fun of me lmao
