When I read posts from folks who are Democrats, liberals, and otherwise on the left side of the political spectrum, I am amazed how many people spend most of their time shooting at others also on the left. Surely this is the path foward for fighting the forces of fascism. 🙄

I just watched the new episode of #StarTrekStarfleetAcademy, and, well, it broke me. I bawled for half the show, and then for a good while after. I've heard criticism of this show's writing, but I'm damned if I understand why. Very seldom has an episode of anything ever hit me like that. (1/2)

As I scroll this morning and see the political tone of things, I am heartened because Democrats and other left-leaning folks ripping into each other and tearing ourselves to shreds really is the way to overcome a totalitarian regime.

The true evil behind Peter Thiel's statement that he no longer believes "freedom and democracy are compatible" is the mistaken perception people have that he and his fellow tech bro billionaires wish us to have either freedom or democracy.

For anyone too excited about the Jan. job numbers being up 130K from Dec., note that this regime also just revised all the numbers since 2022. Totals were dropped by up to ~1M in Dec. (from 159,526K to 158,497K). The new Jan. number is 900K less than what they previously said for Dec. #jobs

The reporting on the killing of Renee Nicole Good now makes one thing very clear: When a bystanding medic pleaded to help, when they were denied the opportunity, when the ICE agent loudly proclaimed he didn't care, when ICE blocked EMS personnel, Renee was ALIVE. Her murder had more than one agent.
