Like, my freeze response is on so hard I haven't even eaten the meal I sat down with almost 35 minutes ago. And the expectant stares and huffs continue. But if I interact at all, I'm the problem.

Maybe I'm being unreasonable, but telling me that you're about to do x and then standing there staring at me like a zoo animal makes *you* a liar, and not me a problem for not abandoning my meal/task to join you, especially on something I don't want to do.
