Meso A became my home for 6 weeks during the ICECHIP campaign. So proud of everyone I got to share the time with in this vehicle during the process.

ICECHIP held a dry run today with test deployments in Boulder! Teams are getting familiarized with their respective roles and instruments in preparation for field work!

After 42 days and 15,000 + miles driven, #ICECHIP completed 24 IOPs across 11 states, including within 75 miles from both the Mexico and Canada borders. This totaled more than 10,000 hailstones collected by our teams while data was gathered on different types of hailstorms!

Reflecting also on the sheer amount of people, effort, and money serious field work like this epic NSF-funded project requires. Reliable weather forecasts and weather data don't just fall from the sky!!
