Lovely day in Bristol yesterday. Took a lot more photos for research for my upcoming booklet about Bedminster, Bristol and then on to the BABE artists book event at Spike Island - totally inspirational and a wonderful meet up with Tom and Jane from @colossive.com

One travelogue is finished and another begins…… The finished front cover for what I intend to be a series of travelogues on Bristol ‘villages’ starting with Bedminster. I’ve entitled the series ‘Roam where I want to’, after the B52’s hit as I get such a sense of personal freedom on my wanderings.

Finally my Porto zine is ready. Wonderful memories from a beautiful city. For £15+£2.40 you get a 16 page A5 long zine documenting all the best a four day break in Porto has to offer, an A4 illustrated map with a poster on the reverse - and an A5 cut out and stick together model.

Another Porto memory. My friend and travel buddy went back to the flat for some rest so I took a walk along the Gaia riverbank and stopped at the Sandeman Port Lodge and terrace bar. There were no spare tables and a very friendly Irish-Canadian lady called Mary offered me a seat at her table.

One of our favourite eateries are @thelounges. The Porto Lounge in Fishponds, Bristol was our regular haunt when we lived there and a Lounge is always a great, yet dependable venue. After my inclusion in the Brutal Bristol pamphlet I was inspired to create this collage of the Norwich Union building Wine St which is being demolished as we speak. This particular aspect of the building fascinates me and I was glad to get a decent photo before the wrecking ball got to it.

Another food study. @branchmarcosolive in Victoria Street was a favourite destination for us before we moved from Bristol, serving delicious Sardinian inspired food. Before we left I actually sold Marco a watercolour and pen portrait of the restaurant’s exterior before we left.
