(Amanda) I feel quite excited this morning - it's been raining! I don't think we've had rain for ages and the plants really needed it. Everywhere feels so nice and fresh now, I hope it lasts. I like the hot weather, but sometimes it can be a bit too much, especially when you are wearing a fur coat!

(Amamda) I know it's a bit silly because I'm only a cat but I do like to check on how the plants in the BG are growing. They need a lot of watering in this hot weather. I know how they feel because I drink a bit more than usual too. There is so much to learn about gardening, but Betty knows a lot!

(Amanda) The Big Greenhouse is gradually getting emptier and there is a bit more room for me to stretch out now. I think they may have been planted outside now the weather is hot. Betty said in some countries the weather is always warm so they don't need a greenhouse. What's it like where you live?

(Amanda) 2/2 When I woke up Mr Khan had gone! He told Betty he'd come back another time, I'm looking forward to that. Betty took him to the Memorail Garden and he loved seeing sweet Robert's statue. Betty told me that he was a really nice human and I promised I won't fall asleep when he comes back.

(Amanda) 1/2 Did I tell you that I wrote to our M.P. Ayoub Khan and invited him to come and visit us at the allotments? I really wasn't expecting him to say yes - but he did and he came yesterday afternoon. It was really hot so I thought I'd have a little nap while I was waiting for him to come.

(Amanda) Auntie Rachel took this lovely photo of dear Robert's statue. It made Betty smile because a spider has decorated it with some web. Spiders must be very clever to be able to do things like that. I know some humans are scared of spiders but Betty thinks they are very interesting.

(Amanda) These funny-looking things are called Artichokes, there are lots of them growing on the allotment. Colin loves to eat them but Betty really doesn't like them at all. I can't even believe they are food. Some humans really do eat weird things.

(Amanda) (1 of 2) I've been thinking about Rainbow Day in August. I know that lots of you would love to come to the allotments to share the day together but you live too far away. Maybe it would be a good idea if you send a photo of your pets on the day and we will include them. What do you think?

(Amanda) I don't know why Betty wants to share this silly photo of me. She thinks it's funny and it's good to see things that make us laugh. I suppose she's right, isn't she?

(Amanda) 2 of 2 The humans will have a chance to talk about them, or just to sit and listen if that's what they prefer. They can bring photos too. There will be some lovely poetry and music. I hope that those of you who don't live too far away will come. What do you think? Is it a good idea?

(Amanda) 1 of 2 I'll tell you a little bit about the special day we are planning. It will be on Sunday 23rd August and it will be like a Followers Day but with a difference. We will remember all our pet friends who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

(Amanda) It was so warm yesterday that I spent a lot of time just sleeping in the Big Greenhouse. I'm not sure if I dreamed this or not, but I think Betty told me that something special is being planned at the allotments for August. I'll let you know when I find out more about it.

(Amanda) Have you ever heard of things called 'Runner Beans'? It's a strange name because they don't actually run anywhere, but they do climb up long canes. Maybe they should be called Climbers, not runners? Betty sowed some more seeds of them last week and they have started to come up already.

(Amanda) I spent more time in the Big Greenhouse yesterday. Betty has sold a lot of the plants so there is more space for me now. I don't mind sharing the BG with the plants because they are being sold for charity. I think charity is a good thing isn't it?

(Amanda) Maurine and I are getting used to each other. I'm not going to say that we are friends yet but things are looking good. I've noticed that he is obsessed with food! He doesn't even look at me if there is food around. Betty says he's got a 'one-track mind' and I think I know what she means.

(Maurine) Betty is sharing this photo of me because she thinks it's funny. I don't even know why I was sticking my tongue out but it made her laugh. Nobody used to take photos of me before I came to live at the allotments. I don't mind because the humans give me Dreamies while they take the photos.

(Amanda) Thank you for all the messages yesterday offering to help if we have any access problems. Betty has contacted someone about it and is waiting for a reply. She'll let you know when she has any news. We had access to the Commonwealth Games so she's looking on the Bright Side.

(Amanda) I've heard that there is going to be a big athletics thing at the stadium in August. Remember the problem about access to the allotments when the Commonwealth Games were on? It got sorted in the end and Betty wants to make sure that it will be alright this time too. She's emailing now!

(Janet) Do you remember how I used to do 'Flop'nRolls'all the time? Well, yesterday I felt like doing them again. Maybe it's something to do with the path being nice and warm from the sunshine but whatever the reason, I really enjoyed it. It's funny how simple things make us happy, isn't it?

(Amanda) I know it sounds a bit silly but I really love my cat-flap! It gives me the freedom to go in and out of the veranda even if there are no humans around to open the door for me. Sometimes humans have good ideas and this is one of them. What do you think? Do you agree with me?

(Amanda) There are some plants in the big greenhouse that should be planted outside now but Betty says it's still too cold for them. I didn't know that plants were fussy about the weather. Some plants can't even be planted outside. I've learned so much since I came to live at the allotments.

(Amanda) I hope nobody is upset by this photo. I didn't intend to kill the mouse but maybe I was a bit too rough with him. I've heard some humans say that allotment cats shouldn't be fed cat food, we should eat mice instead! Betty, Colin and my other Aunties and Uncles don't agree thank goodness!

(Amanda) Betty, Aunty Chrissie and Uncle Mick had a meeting yesterday. I wasn't invited but I went anyway. All I wanted to do was to sit on Uncle Mick's lap while he made a fuss of me. Betty told me that Robert loved going to meetings too so I'm following in his 'paw-steps.' She's weird, isn't she?

(Amanda) Have I ever shown you what it's like inside a Polytunnel? Colin grows plants like Sweet Peppers in there because they need to be kept warm. Gardening is a bit too complicated for me. How do humans know what plants like? Betty says that some humans have Green Fingers - that sounds weird.

(Amanda) I've never met this human before so I decided to introduce myself. It's a good thing that she likes cats because I didn't give her any choice. Betty thinks my instinct told me that she is a cat-lover but I've never heard of 'instinct' before. Is it something that humans have too?

(Amanda) I checked Colin's plot yesterday. The plants either side of me are artichokes, the ones behind me are broad beans. He loves them but I don't think they're the sort of things that cats eat. He's been working hard on the plot, there are NO weeds! If you had an allotment, what would you grow?

(Amanda) This is another of Aunty Rachel's lovely photos. She took it with her special camera which makes it look like I was really close to her but I wasn't. She thinks I'm really good at 'posing', whatever that means. I've had so many photos taken of me since I've been at the allotments.

(Amanda) (2 of 2) I'm wondering if he's got another life outside the allotments. It would be funny if he lived in a house nearby and was just visiting us for food. Do you think we will ever find out?

(Amanda) (1 of 2) Auntie Rachel came yesterday and took this photo of Maurine. She's got a special camera which makes things look really close to her. Betty didn't know that he had scratches on his face till she saw the photo. I didn't do them and I'm sure Janet didn't either.

(Amanda) I had a good idea. I don't know anything about politics but Betty told me that we have a new human representing our area. I wrote to him and invited him to visit the allotments. I hope he agrees to come. Betty will show him around and I'll let him make a fuss of me. Do you think he'll come?

(Amanda) It was a very busy day yesterday. The humans had their Plant Sale and made a lot of money for charity. There were so many people in the veranda that I thought it would be a good idea to keep out of the way. All the humans were happy and bought lots of plants.

(Amanda) Maurine is getting a bit braver every day. Look how close he is to Betty's foot in the first photo. The other photos made Betty laugh - she said I was playing hard to get but I have no idea what that means. I'm so glad that Maurine and I are getting on well together.

(Amanda) It's not a very good photo but it shows something very exciting - Maurine and I relaaxing together for the first time! I've never been so friendly with another cat before, not even with Sweet Barbs. I'm going to share some more photos tomorrow, they are much better than this one.

(Amanda) I'm not sure what's in this blue bag behind me but I think someone's been tidying up. I've heard some humans talking about taking things to 'The Tip' and about 'Recycling'. I haven't got a clue what they mean but I suppose they know what they are doing. Have you heard of these things?

(Janet) Sometimes Colin gives me my breakfast outside on the plot. He always sits with me while I eat, to make sure that the birds don't come and eat my food. They are frightened of humans so if Colin is there they keep away. I didn't know that some birds like meat, did you know that?

(Amanda) I wish Maurine could see how Colin and I greet each other every morning. He is still trying to work out if the humans are friendly or not. I understand how he feels because I was like that when I first arrived at the allotments. I think he is getting a bit braver but it will take time.

(Amanda) There was a very interesting smell in the grass but I'm not too sure what it was. Betty thinks it's funny that cats (and dogs) smell everything. Humans don't do that to other humans, do they? Maybe it's a good thing that they don't.

(Amanda) I love the early mornings at the allotments. It's usually very quiet and peaceful and it's Betty's favourite time of day too. She's told me that next Sunday there is going to be a Plant Sale. I hope lots of humans come and buy the plants. The money is for charity.

(Amanda) Space is running out in the Big Greenhouse! Betty is hoping that lots of the plants will be sold next Sunday at the Plant Sale. I managed to find a bit of space near the sweet peppers and tomatoes. Betty grows all these plants from seed. Have you ever done that?

(Amanda) I was keeping Betty company in the Big Greenhouse and I couldn't resist trying out this tray. It was a bit dirty but I didn't mind that. Sometimes being high up so I can see what's going on is just as important. I'm a nosey girl, aren't I?

(Amanda) I had a nice walk with Betty yesterday. She's told me abut how Robert and Barbs used to walk together in the past. I'd love to walk with another cat, Betty is alright but another cat would be better. I wonder if Maurine will ever walk with me? What do you think?

(Amanda) Something amazing happened yesterday. While I was waiting for my breakfast Maurine decided to join me. I wasn't at all bothered even though he came really close to me. But he just ignored me, I think he is only interested in food! Betty says he's got a One Track Mind. Whatever that means.

(Amanda) 1 of 2 It was Betty's birthday yesterday. I don't know much about birthdays, I don't even know if I've got one. I think the day I first came to the allotments is a bit like a birthday. There's a special name for it but I can't remember what it is.

(Amanda, Janet and Maurine) It's Betty's birthday! Let's all wish her a Very Happy Birthday! 🙂 ❤

(Amanda) I love having a good stretch, especially when I wake up after a little nap. Betty thinks my feet look adorable when I stretch. She says that when she stretches it doesn't reach her feet. Humans are a bit weird, aren't they?

(Amanda) I hope you don't mind but today's tweet is about the 4 cats that live next door to Betty and Colin's house. They jump over the fence and wait by the kitchen door for Betty to give them some treats. They are very friendly and Betty doesn't mind them coming to see her every day.

(Janet) Auntie Pip took this photo of me. I think she was surprised that I didn't run away and hide when I saw her. I'm very slowly getting used to other humans and I seem to know which ones are going to be kind. As well as Betty and Colin, I've also got three lovely Aunties who are my friends now.
