A family confirmed that they received their @3wishesprogram.bsky.social plush with their loved one’s favorite song and heartbeat recording. I have to say, I’m so glad these sound modules work so well and can be cherished for a long time.

Just received these 2 fingerprint paintings from our volunteer artist for the families of a couple of @3wishesprogram.bsky.social patients. Once again, I am so impressed that the artists were able to integrate all the family's requests! I hope the families love them.

Writing a paper on heartbeat recordings and songs today, and opened this one from a couple of years ago. It's still so heartbreaking. A young mom died in our #ICU and her family requested that her heartbeat be integrated into a lullaby for the 1yr old she leaves behind. @3wishesprogram.bsky.social

A volunteer artist created this painting for a family of a @3wishesprogram.bsky.social patient. The patient was a musician and physician, and the painting is perfect.

I gave a talk to the folks at the University of Alberta last year about @3wishesprogram.bsky.social and just got an email update. They have launched the program and have granted wishes for more than 75 patients and family now! This made my day! #KindnessMatters

Not knowing that we need stuffed animals with a pouch for the sound module, one of our @3wishesprogram.bsky.social families has requested the patient's heartbeat be placed in a very special vintage Pooh bear. Our music therapist has volunteered to do some sewing to make it possible. Oh my heart.

Just got off a zoom call with someone who wants to start @3wishesprogram.bsky.social as part of paramedics services in Toronto! Over the years, we've had requests like seeing the ocean one last time, so this would be so cool!!!

One of our most appreciated (and personal) keepsakes from our @3wishesprogram.bsky.social are these heart-framed EKGs. We used to hand cut the shapes from cardstock, but now so excited to have found a printing company who created the template for us (at about the same cost)! They look great!

We frequently provide these fingerprint keychains as part of our @3wishesprogram.bsky.social to families who have lost their loved one. It's wild, but as of last month, we have provided 12,400 of them at our institution alone!

Word clouds are "wishes" that we often gift families as part of the @3wishesprogram.bsky.social. As families wait for their loved ones to take their last breath, we ask them to focus on who their loved one is as a person & write words to describe them--this is a mom, a wife who is strong, brave...

A great program for end of life patients. And, yes, your heart is going to squeeze and you're going to cry. A cry for the ones leaving and for the ones being able to keep some special object just for this moment.
