What is the first video game you remember playing? For me it was either an old Sonic game on a handheld device, a helicopter game on the Megadrive (Sega Genesis) or Driver on the PS1. My memory is awful so I can't remember what came first.

I'll also say, I feel the popularity of open world games and RPGs is at least partly due to being able to get 100+ hours of enjoyment out of a single purchase. For people who can't spend much on games, being a time sink is a feature, not a bug.
