This was an amazing comic, if the adaptation can capture the same feel it will be something special. Hopefully they can keep the meta-humour as well, though I doubt the letters pages will translate to screen...

Confused why 54-year-old Naoko Mori was cast as an 80-yr-old care home resident in The Boys. Superpowers age differently but the character was meant to be old and decrepit, only she did not look it! Maybe she'll play her younger self in the prequel?

Great news! It started off a bit too close to the US version, but it's got darker and weirder as it went on. Some great choices of hosts and musical guests, and an excellent cast who were mostly unknowns before, hopefully they will all stay for season 2. #SNLUK

Season finale of #DaredevilBornAgain was excellent, a satisfying conclusion to everything that's gone before and setting up a third season with a very different status quo. And possibly another spinoff - Defenders season 2 or Heroes For Hire, maybe?

Finished Dune Prophecy. Really enjoyed it, like an SF Game Of Thrones. It looks fantastic, actors all excellent, and it's far enough from the books that it can pull off big twists and reveals. I'm looking forward to the next season more than the next Dune movie.

Another excellent episode of #SNLUK tonight. Nicola Coughlan was a good host, giving an impressive array of accents. Emma Sidi did some great character work, and George Fouracres continues to be a star in the making. Don't think Jimmy Fallon was needed, most of the UK viewers won't know who he is.

Finished Type Help. For a free browser game it's incredibly addictive, I spent hours trying to piece it all together and making copious notes, and it's hugely satisfying to unlock each new scene. A remake with graphics is coming, but this version works just fine. william-rous.itch.io/type-help

Finished reading Mistborn: Secret History by Brandon Sanderson. Having just read the original trilogy, this works as an epilogue, showing events from another POV and widening the scope to hint at the bigger Cosmere universe. Now I'm almost ready to start on the epic Stormlight Archive series.

Finished watching Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen on Netflix. The early episodes build up a tangible sense of dread, but halfway through that goes away and the second half is nowhere near as good. Feels like it would have worked better as a movie instead.

I read kids comics like The Beano and Whoopee! when I was young. Never got into Transformers though I was the right age for it, but I did collect the Thundercats weekly comic which I thought had better stories than the TV cartoon.

The new VERY hagriographic Michael Jackson biopic starring MJ's nephew is out at the end of the month. But back in 2004 an unauthorised and EQUALLY flattering biopic was made in Canada. Here is a clip and I promise you have NO idea where it's going. I haven't done a single edit here.

Finished watching How To Get To Heaven From Belfast on Netflix. Excellent series, just as funny as Derry Girls but with an added mystery-thriller element on top. The central trio give engaging performances and it all wraps up neatly. I look forward to whatever the team do next.

I would absolutely go under the "safe return guaranteed" scheme. Otherwise I'd probably leave it until they have regular round trips with zero deaths.

Last night's episode of #SNLUK was even better than the first, squarely aimed at a British audience with very specific references that Americans would not get. The two musical sketches showed they've got some seriously talented people working on it, and Dornan was a great host.

Not surprised Starfleet Academy has been cancelled. It never seemed the kind of show that could run and run, the first season felt like a complete story in itself, and they've already filmed season two so I suspect that will be similar. Shame no big SF shows can go the distance any more.
