The finale of Starfleet Academy ended it on a real high, using science and logic to defeat the villain in true Star Trek style. Very cathartic to see the hatred-spewing, science-denying, greedy showboater sent to jail, if only that happened in real life...

This is a really good watch, exploring the history of Berlin between the end of WW2 and the Wall going up, with some beautiful location filming and their usual dashes of humour.

Watched Scream 7. One of the weakest of the series, nothing new if you've seen all the others. It just feels like they had to do something for the 30th anniversary and went with the first idea they had. Scariest part was the trailer for Passenger before it.

RIP Rob Grant. I was a fan of Red Dwarf right from episode one, and the six seasons he co-wrote are classic TV and endlessly rewatchable. At least there's that new novel to look forward to.

Starfleet Academy ep 6 finally brought back Paul Giamatti, an excellent villain and a worthy nemesis for Holly Hunter to go up against. Outwardly flamboyant but smart and calculating, it's a magnificent performance, up there with Khan or Gul Dukat.

Looking forward to this! Since season 1 aired I've watched the first 200+ episodes of the anime, it'll be weird to see this world in live action again. Looks like they're going all in on the weirdness and wacky characters this time, bring it on!

New Muppet Show was really enjoyable, felt just like the original version which I can just about remember. Kermit's voice doesn't sound right, but the rest are spot on. Sabrina Carpenter was a decent guest, not upstaging the Muppets. A full series would be most welcome.

Finished watching Wonder Man. It was great to see a small-scale superhero show for a change, no villains and hardly any action scenes, just an entertaining character piece. Trevor and Simon (not those ones) were fine leads, Ben Kingsley especially, and it ended perfectly.

Ep 5 of Starfleet Academy was the perfect blend of old and new Trek, a touching tribute to DS9 in general and Sisko in particular, while also giving the spotlight to one of the new kids. The B-plot didn't really go anywhere, but you can't have everything.

Ep 4 of Wonder Man is the best so far, telling a standalone story with new characters that expands on the existing themes and explains why the lead has to hide his powers. Not sure why it had to be in black and white, it's only set a few years in the past, but it does set it apart.

This is excellent, thoroughly researched and full of detail while still being a highly enjoyable read.

Starfleet Academy ep 4 was a solid Klingon story, the show works best when it balances student life with what's happening in the wider galaxy. The resolution was neat as well, felt like something Picard might have come up with back in the day.

This is great news! I've been rereading the first Mistborn trilogy to refresh my memory before I start on the rest of the Cosmere. They would make great movies, classic "young person uses their magic powers to overthrow the system" story but with a complex magic system and a world full of secrets.

Latest episode of Starfleet Academy was a bit too juvenile for my liking, all pranks and rivalries and sports shenanigans. I know they're teenagers, but they're acting like kids! And no sign of the Doctor either. Hopefully it won't carry on like this...
