I broke out the immersion circulator last night for the first time in ages, to sous vide a pork tenderloin marinated in sazón, shallots, and garlic. Paired it with sautéed asparagus and homemade Spanish rice. We do okay over here, even with the cheap meats.

A benefit of only owning Hyundai vehicles for the past twenty-odd years is that I knew exactly where to reach under the hood to manually put it in gear, I knew exactly what tools I needed to get to the shift linkage, and I knew what part probably failed. Ended up getting two replacements for free.

Another break, another thing breaks! This same bushing failed on @chieflotsahair.bsky.social's car on the first day she returned to in-school instruction back in 2021. We found it failed again today, fortunately the day before returning from winter break.

I captured the Horsehead Nebula tonight and reframed a bit so I would also get a good shot of the Flame Nebula there on the left. These are just a couple of the interesting objects in the Orion constellation. For reference, the big green star on the center left is the leftmost star in Orion’s Belt.

Okay, I went back out tonight with a clearer sky and the knowledge that I gained last night and took what I think is a much better picture of Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon). I'm quite happy with this one.

I finally had the opportunity to take a few minutes at dusk and run down the road to a nearby field with an unobstructed western view to see if I could get a photo of Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon). This is an okay shot, but I might try again soon if I get the chance.

Had a bit of time before cloud cover rolled in tonight, so I grabbed a few shots of the moon and the Triangulum Galaxy. The Triangulum Galaxy is the third largest galaxy in our Local Group, after the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way.

My lovely @chieflotsahair.bsky.social runs all three Wine and Dine races at Disney World every year and we tend to go a little overboard with the costume for the 5K. This year's 5K theme was Mushu's Breakfast, so her costume was Mushu (Mulan, 1998) wearing the Great Stone Dragon's head as a hat.
