I’ve been stuck in bed all day, so I did my best to tally up all the books I’ve read this year. I’ve counted 41 books to the year. I’m certain I didn’t get all the library books I’ve read recorded. And created the heading for next year’s list. 📚

First run of the year complete. It was great to run in the sun and warm temps back home again. 🏃‍♀️

My hopes of doing nothing today are quickly dissipating. Maybe tomorrow.

I tried so many new recipes this year! I think my favorite to make and eat is broccoli beef. Honestly, any of the recipes I tried from Woks of Life were great this year. New dessert that I made would be tiramisu! I cobbled a decent recipe for that.

I considered a nearly midnight run to end the year after our full day of driving but then I heard a lot more than fireworks being shot in our neighborhood and decided to wait until morning. Here’s to another great year of running! 🏃‍♀️

Maple has a leg! Just one, it’s too dark to crochet anymore today. I’m always amazed that someone can determine where to increase and decrease stitches to create shapes with yarn. Like Maple’s foot! 🧶

Thanks to Atlanta traffic, I hyper focused and now have a Maple popsicle! Time to add the details! 🧶

I crocheted until it was too dark to see yesterday so I didn’t get a progress photo until this morning. I’ve started a new project! This will be Maple from Tumble Leaf. 🧶

I’d be in full on panic mode if I had only 2 unread books at home!

We forgot a water bottle in the car last night and this morning we have ice! Is this normal?

Tonight’s hotel has a sign requesting that we use towels more than a day to help save the earth. There’s one hook in the bathroom for a towel.

We are back in the car so the crocheting has begun in earnest. I only had the hat to finish today. Ginko is now complete! 🧶

It’s snowing!

Got in some miles before it got really cold. But not before the piercing winds started. I do not have clothes for this weather! 🏃‍♀️

Visited the Nelson Atkins Museum of art to get some earrings! Oh, and see some shuttlecocks. Oh, and I guess some art!

Ran a half today with my sister while visiting family in Kansas City. I wasn’t prepared for the elevation change! 🏃‍♀️

This is not mine, that’s back home. This was my Gramma’s mixer. My mom now has it.

Decided I need to create a travel baking kit. The current list of things to include are: 1. Kitchen scale 2. Pastry Cutter 3. Decent paring knife 4. Whisk

Today’s adventure took us 630 feet above ground! I’ve seen the arch a lot of times but hadn’t had the opportunity to ride to the top. As someone who doesn’t like being high and near edges, this could have been terrifying but I was fine.

It seems I only crochet on long car trips. Yesterday, I finished from just above the legs up. The claws were already made just got attached. Today he should get a face and hat. 🧶

Just returned all of my library books. I guess I have to read from my TBR stack for vacation.

And I’m done! Santa’s Run Fest for Kids 15k in the books. They changed the course and somehow added 2 overpasses. My knees are done! 🏃‍♀️

I got to hang out with some 4th graders at the Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum today!

Found myself with a few bonus quiet moments during a crazy day and tested out the speedball carvers in my classroom. So now I have art for today and a lesson for 5th grade in January! #artadventcalendar

I love Christmas shirts but most are made as long sleeved or as sweaters. I’ve started making my own Christmas tank tops. I made a reverse appliqué tree and then machine embroidered the holly jolly Christmas design. #artadventcalendar

I was going to do a running commentary of the day but I didn’t. I started the day with a looooooong training run of 13.1 miles. I think I finally fueled enough during the run. Now to get the right interval timing and use it for all the miles. 🏃‍♀️

#artadventcalendar Day 1: My attempt at a slightly realistic snowflake went well until I decided to paint it. I’m going to give it a little more attention tomorrow.

This is how I check out books!

The flavor of the pudding was great! I definitely had too much bread to pudding ratio! Though having the crispy bits meant that I was able to enjoy it because it wasn’t all pudding-y. The top still had flavor since I made sure to soak all the pieces. They just dried out while baking.

We’ve had this Charlie Brown tree for years. The last few years, the tape has worn out and the branches have been falling off. Today, I recovered all of the branches with fresh brown floral tape. Hopefully, this tree will keep going for a few more years.

I wasn’t going to bake today, but we have a lot of leftover rolls. This pile of cubes will become bread pudding for dessert tonight.

I found the missing pillowcase! I thought I had accidentally thrown away one of our nice pillowcases while cleaning just before our son was born. Turns out it had gotten put into a tub of clothing given to us when I was packing the then giant sized clothing.

Other than all of the desserts being brown, I’m calling this year a success! 1. Cobbler was a tried and true recipe. 2. Pumpkin pie with whipping cream and whole milk and the addition of cardamom was a hit!

And now they have faces! A few years ago, rather than bake a huge meal for just the three of us, we found a place that would deliver a fully cooked meal and then spent the day at LEGOLAND. To say thanks to all the people working, we handed out cookies! This is now an annual tradition. #cookieparty

My cheesecake is a bit of an experiment. I forgot I threw out all of our old and stale graham crackers and hadn’t replaced them yet. So I went for crustless. Due to that change, rather than having a layer of caramel between the crust and cake, I mixed in the little balls of caramel.

The pumpkin pie came out of the oven all puffed up. It’s since settled and looks amazing!

How about some results photos?! First up are the rolls. These better taste as good as they look! Also, they are huge so I may make them smaller next round.

I wish baking counted towards exercise!

I’m excited about how these are looking! They did get an egg wash before going into the oven so they should brown up nicely!

First pie is in the oven! Trying yet another pumpkin pie recipe.

Three rounds of kneading may have been a bit much for my mixer. It needs a break!

Getting ready for Thanksgiving! We like to have a few turkey legs on hand.
