Also note: Disabled people, including chronically ill people, do tons of organizing and political action and things. Many of us are quite competent at that side of things but are still left out of our local communities. Others of us don't have the energy to do organizing anymore. It's complicated.

Related to the above: the stories here provide just one kind of example of how community-building and planning that does not intentionally seek out the people being abandoned and isolated and excluded and forgotten leads to the literal deaths of those people.

If you are serious about supporting your neighbors and the vulnerable members of your community, you will also need to go out of your way to address inconvenient needs that have pushed those people out of community in the past. This includes requiring masking and air cleaners.
