The fact that left-of-center folks see it as hypocrisy is itself a sign that they do not understand the contemporary right. From the basic Wilhoit-ian perspective of conservatism, there's no contradiction, no hypocrisy. Power *is* the principle.

One of the best things you can do to support a #grieving person is to *resist your “fix-it” urge*. Sit with them, acknowledge their feelings, ask if they’d like to talk about their loss, and then listen, listen, #listen. No need to “fix” - you can’t anyway.
