I'm not so sure it is a good idea to introduce a new 'mandatory' digital card that requires you to have a mobile phone that runs on one of two American operating systems, one of which follows an aggressive system of planned obsolescence. Both of which are relatively new (16-18 years).

I think this ship has already sailed but if we are going to introduce legislation, I would be looking for laws that require most / or at lst essential services to 1) accept cash 2) not require an app 3) not require an email / phone number to get a receipt Not to make digital 'brit cards' mandatory

We already have ‘right to work’ checks for employment. This won’t change that. ‘Illegal’ working isn’t done through the kinds of employers who do this. This won’t help that at all.

Didn't foresee mandatory id cards as a 'brexit benefit'. Can't see this being the silver bullet that people are touting it as. The Irish #psc debacle could be quite prescient here. Also can't see how half the people in NI will respond well when being told they need a 'brit card'. #britcard #id
