Let Me Be The Clock was a lower charting song by Smokey Robinson from 1980. He voice (still decent today) hadn't changed much at all from The Miracles heyday. Clocking in a 5+ minutes and it didn't drag or get repetitive which is impressive. Good musicians.

I'm generally audio > video but in the early-mid 1980's MTV era artists had to adapt. This included the prog rock band Yes. They moved from Fragile and concerts "In the round" to an early computer assisted video of Leave It. If you watched MTV it was unavoidable.

In 1983 the reformulated Hollies did a uptempo cover of HDHās masterpiece Stop In The Name Love. The song is good but the official video is super creative (and chilling) and one of my faves of the early MTV era. The kids in the video are about 50 years old now.

Howard was the sound of the band but Mark Volmanās (RIP) contribution is under appreciated. Filmed on the beach in Malibu in late 1966 for Dick Clarkās Where The Action Is. Mark is clowning around as usual and delivering a great falsetto.
