That’s excellent, Erich. That collection of offerings and the god’s inevitable response.

I wouldn't mind some of my family--and wine--but this doesn't sound like a crowd I'd want to have suddenly pop in! Watching a horror movie sounds much more relaxing! (I'll be in my pjs. 😉)

I love the quiet insistence of this--"This is where you-are-not-supposed-to lives" the line stepped over. I keep reading this one over and over.

‘you do not see it. It’s not painted or mapped out’ — that insistence draws the reader in. The unseen border becomes a manifesto for difference.

The way you start this poem with the “That one? / Oh, you noticed.” is genius; it really draws you in and makes you feel more like an active participant in a conversation than a passive reader. I really had the feeling you were telling me a secret. Wonderfully done!
