I am going into Rotherham today, to read, write and talk about #poetry. Here is a collection of Rotherham based poems from the excellent Christine May Turner, or 'Mother" as she is known around these parts.

Let's be honest, if we write #poetry, we do it because we are exceptional people, we do it because we are better than most people, in fact we do it because we are better than most poets (even if we are not) As doctor Johnson would say, we believe that our creativity lifts us above the common herd.

Mick Jenkinson. A fantastic poet and a great promoter of #poetry, his open mic night - Well Spoken in Doncaster regularly features poets of recognised standing, as well as chancers like myself. He is also a talented musician. Have a read of some of his stuff here.

I'm particularly pleased with this little Coleridge essay of mine. It has the lot, #poetry, drugs, prevarication, internet addiction and pop music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Its a bit like the insides of my head laid bare for all to see. But only a bit.

I have always found the idea of #Heaven fascinating. Is it an actual place or just a state of mind? I imagine a very English Heaven. But not with St George's crosses all over the place. Just English countryside and coasts, with easy access to British, European and other Heavens. #poetry

Glenn Barker @rotherwrites.bsky.social was featured on #sixtyoddpoets in July last year with #poetry musing on nature, body image, a British lunar outing and the speech for his daughter's wedding.

I wrote a piece entitled "Unrequited Love and Suicide". It's about "The Sorrows of Young Werther" an old tale of a spurned lover who shot himself through the head. I was delighted to get this comment. "Great way to start the day, Mike. I think this smile will linger through to Monday. Thank you."

Some #pagan #poetry on sixty odd Poets today. My friend Ian Beal died just over a year ago. We knew that he was a bit of a spiritual thinker, but until his writings and other bits and pieces were found, we never knew the depths of his paganism.

I have decided to try my hand with posting some of my #writing on Medium. Just to see how it works. I wrote this piece about #nostalgia in advertising a few years back.

This manual isn't badly translated — I wrote it myself — in English. I wrote this intro myself too. Despite the em dashes.
