I've thought this for a while, but Cristian Pulisic is a role-player. A very good role-player, but a role-player nonetheless. His best attributes are his dribbling and (usually) his shooting. This is why I don't understand Poch's obsession with playing him centrally.

About a year ago, I attended a Positional and Relational Football through Data masterclass by Soccerment. One concept brought up was positional fluidity, which is the standard deviation of the locations of players' actions. I used this to analyze ball receptions of Champion's League players.

Hey, I (kind of) helped with this. To add some data to what Matt said, Portland had 4 players in the 95+ percentile for interrupting g+ for their positions last season. 3 of them left. Two of those were center mids. Cole Bassett was in the 17th percentile for interrupting g+ (this is depressing).
