Congratulations to the newest members of the UAW, senior researchers at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York! Workers voted overwhelmingly to form their union last week and now join UAW Region 9A.

We have election dates! We will have the opportunity to vote to form our union on April 9th and 10th, between 10am-2pm and 3pm-7pm each day, in the Levinson Student Center.

Yesterday, researchers, students, staff & faculty from across NYC came together to fight back against illegal funding cuts and selective censorship by the administration. This is a critical moment for the academic labor movement & we will continue to be at the forefront of it! #StandUpForScience

Sinai-UAW showed up! We joined @rocsuaw.bsky.social, SSW-UAW and hundreds of other researchers in NYC to defend the public research funding that makes research possible at Mount Sinai. When research funding is under attack, what do we do? STAND UP FIGHT BACK

Yesterday, we rallied with hundreds of researchers in NYC and thousands across the country to #DefendPublicResearch! By forming our union with @uaw.org we can have a bigger voice in decisions affecting us and Mount Sinai at the national level, including around science funding.
