I think it was @markseifter.bsky.social that suggested for skill feats that if a player wants to do the thing either attach a skill roll (if it didn't have one) or increase the difficulty. Bon Mot for instance, let them do it anyway but increase the DC to get the success by two. 1/3

Something I'm learning in #RevengeOfTheRunelords for #Pathfinder2e, nothing generates the ire of your players quite like disarming them of there weapons and using them against them. I don't want to overuse it but it is a surprisingly good tactic.

Or And hear me out here Give out more hero points and use the hero point variant that if the result is less than ten you add ten to the die result. Alternatively steal the luck system from ToV. Everytime you fail a roll you get a luck point, spend 1LP to get a +1 on a roll, spend 3LP get a reroll.

Excellent thread, but this is the post that I want to call out: you have to make going back to the text feel valuable. Yes. So many times yes. So many games could learn from this.

A really great thread, well worth reading if you're into design and writing for #TTRPG I will say, having run some PbtA games my only problem with it is that the GM doesn't have a playbook to roll dice and use moves from 😅 But Devin brings up some great design points about the system often missed.
