Kid: What’s the hardest part about being an author? Me: To write fiction, you need to be a sensitive person, bc you need to be hyper aware of people’s feelings, including yr own. At our local No Kings demonstration, I chatted with a woman who’d brought her cute dog. A few minutes later she and her brother were introduced to the crowd of 1500 as Woody Guthrie’s grandkids, and they led us all in a heartfelt rendition of This Land is Your Land.

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

After seeing all the wrong info on Google about my age (including the charming fact that I passed in 2023), I asked it a few more questions. All these answers were bizarrely off—but I’d sure like to meet this crocheting, kayaking Floridian who spent 10 years in Costa Rica!

When a reader’s mom told me her kid looked up my age online—and was way off the mark—I checked out what Google was saying. Wrong wrong wrong wrong.
