Social media has always been toxic, is increasingly moreso, and it's becoming a good, sensible mental and emotional health decision to disengage. Publishers need to address what happens when a large chunk of their current audience goes offline.

What's annoying to me about the Bsky mod situation isn't that they stick to the tos so hard that they won't ban bigots unless they break a specific rule, it's that they don't stick to the tos very hard at all unless they're mad at marginalized people for doing literally anything

I'm sorry but this is an absolutely terrible take. The difference between fanfiction and AI is that fanfiction is a labor of craft and love by amateur writers that explicitly does not attempt to profit off the art. AI slop exists for the singular purpose of generating capital without paid labor.
