I did something for my mental health today. I deleted Duolingo. It had become a chore punctuated with constant nagging to pay for next level (when I was already paying). Every nudge was suggestion of inadequacy & couldn’t be turned off. ‘Free trial’ today was last straw. 650 days streak ends today.

The United States Military Academy has just eliminated all Cadet clubs and activities for POC. Most of these have existed for decades like the Society of Black Engineers. They were there when I was a Cadet in 1987. All of the religious ones remain. This isn’t DEI. It’s white Christian Nationalism.

This adorable minx just cost approximately £400 in urine tests and blood tests and hormone tests. Turns out it was psychogenic overdrinking most likely caused by anxiety or feeling randy. Symptoms have passed and tests showed nothing scary. #DogsofBlueSky #PeskyDogsofBlueSky

Watched #Conclave tonight and thought it was excellent. I also can’t be the only person who realised about 10 minutes before the end that I had read the book when it first came out and COMPLETELY forgotten.

I am falling out of love with my Apple Watch. I don’t need a watch that requires charging every day, nor tells me when to stand, nor tells me ‘it’s totally worth it!’ to take a brisk 7 minute walk at 11.20pm. Time for an old school watch again.

Interesting how much of the X vs Here discourse focuses on politics. Definitely a factor but bots were excruciating and for a lactation consultant, I was getting surprisingly bored of all the boobs. Lack of regulation/ moderation was painful on many levels.
