8 years ago, someone stole my Barbie collection from my old house. Losing the Bob Mackie Madame du Barbie broke my heart. She was the pride & joy of the collection. I've only cried tears of joy once over a Christmas gift. Today makes the 2nd time. @rudypanucci.bsky.social is the best husband ever.

Not gonna lie. We've had a rough holiday season marked by the losses of very good friends. But like the song says, we've muddled through somehow. Spending Christmas Eve basking in the glow of our trees & enjoying the quiet.

Found out this afternoon that another good friend of ours passed away. He suffered a massive stroke over the weekend. Just gutted & numb right now. Seriously, I'm so tired of losing people in my life.

Today's my #birthday. Busy day. Trek in the cold & snow for a slice of rainbow cake. L rides, visit to Macy's, and seeing Amadeus @steppenwolfthtr.bsky.social. Definitely a little older. I'll get back to ya on the wiser, later.

So we walk down to the Jewel-Osco (grocery) near our hotel for some cheap eats. As we stroll through the beverage aisle, we see this elderly man wearing a medical mask. THEN, we hear him singing (sweetly) along with the store music. "I Don't Like Mondays" by the Boomtown Rats.

Home from the oncologist. Still doing really well, according to him! The regular screenings continue.

It's been a rough weekend. Grieving the death of one of my best friends on Thanksgiving. Nerves about seeing my oncologist on Tuesday. Thinking about aging because my birthday is next Sunday.

We got a call around 9 on Thanksgiving night with the news our good friend Lee had died. We're in that state of shock phase right now. This is a painting he gave me for Christmas a few years ago. Two of my favorite things together:Grumpy Cat & TWD zombies. I miss my friend.😥😥😥😥

Another successful #picnicthanksgiving in the books. My husband cooks a great meal, served up on our Fiestaware, and we relax and eat! Now it's post dinner relaxing! Thankful for so very much! And if you're reading this, it includes you!

A wonderful friend of mine passed away unexpectedly this summer. He didn't want a service, so last night, some of his friends held a celebration of life for him. I went to it right after work, intending to stay for a short time. Ended up staying about two hours, reconnecting with friends.

One year ago today (10/22/24)I was in the hospital for major surgery. It went well and was also a life changer. This is a nod to a photo I posted post-op that day. Same hand, just no PICC line! And it's resting on a favorite shirt with a word that sums up my feelings for those in my life. 🙂🙂

Back home after seeing The Book of Mormon (for the third time!). It was like spending time with a much loved old friend. Thanks to my SIL here in town for inviting us. 'Twas a great time!
