I love video games, and think it's cool when a game inspires a community to make mods for it. THAT BEING SAID, if I ever heard a mod used any kind of "AI" to replicate voice actors, create any images, or write any story/dialogue etc..., it'd be an immediate hard pass for me.

This is a reminder that even in a best case usage, GenAI can only have use as a tool if you already have the expertise needed to check the work. But instead people use it to replace human expertise and are oblivious when it inevitably gets things very very wrong. An unreliable tool is useless.
