Learning to like yourself brings more peace of mind than trying to be liked by everyone else

Finding opportunities to laugh together is a great way to disarm tension and make relationships happier

Taking the next small step helps you move from uncertainty to agency

Life mainly consists of ordinary moments, like this one right now. If we can learn to appreciate and be present for more of them, we get so much more out of life

In life’s chaos, don’t forget to look around and appreciate the things that are going right

Remember: You are not your thoughts

It helps to keep a sense of everyday optimism. When I tell myself “it’s going to be a good day” I help to make this more likely, while still leaving space to adjust and respond as needed

One of the most important things we can do is let people know they are not alone

Doing good feels good. You can help yourself by helping others

Focus on inner motivation not external validation. Let go of comparing yourself to what other people are doing

Stay hopeful. Having even something small to look forward to reminds us that change is possible and things will not feel this way for ever

When something triggers us, this is an opportunity to learn something about ourselves. We can grow by choosing to rewrite the story or changing how we respond

Rushing into action can lead to unwise decisions. But delaying, or not doing anything, is often worse. So instead choose “mindful action”: pause, breathe, reflect on your options and really tune in to the wisest way forward. Then get on with it!

You can do hard things even if you’re anxious. Focus on acceptance (of what you can’t control) and agency (to change what you can)

Give up hoping for a better past. You can’t change what happened. Choose what happens now

When a friend shares good news, make time to really notice and appreciate it. Joining in their enthusiasm can strengthen your relationship and give you both a boost

Having a full calendar is sometimes a defence - to avoid accepting how we really feel. Let go of the need to be always busy and focus on doing meaningful things

Our thoughts are like weather patterns. We can watch the clouds come and go, remembering the clear blue sky is always there behind them

Rather than jumping to “what’s wrong with them?” stay curious by asking “what happened to them?”

Some activities are meaningful but not very enjoyable. Others are enjoyable but not very meaningful. Try to spend less time on things that are neither

Your next move matters more than your last mistake

When you can do something about it, focus on action. When you can’t, focus on acceptance

Aim for progress rather than perfect

Action is an antidote to anxiety

When I blame others, I lose my agency. When I take responsibility for what I can do, I build my agency

The best way to learn how to do something well is to start trying it. Action is the greatest teacher

Let go of minor disappointments as quickly as possible, they’re not worth the mental energy

Less is more. Learning to want what we have is more fulfilling than yearning to have what we want

Make time for loved ones and friends today. Our social health is just as important as our physical health

Be kind to your mind. Peace grows from within.

Habits matter. Small daily actions often lead to more lasting positive outcomes than big one-off changes

Find joy in the little things. If you can’t be happy with a short walk outside then you probably won’t be happy on a long vacation either

It’s more rewarding to do things for the inner fulfilment they bring, rather than for outward approval from others

You don’t need to wait for inspiration. Just get started - then the ideas and energy will follow

Whatever happens today, focus on helping things work out as well as possible in the circumstances

What are you holding onto that you no longer need to? You can’t change what happened, so let it go

Try not to let their urgency become your emergency

This is not a rehearsal, it’s your one precious life. Try to appreciate and make the most of today, even if things are difficult or don’t go to plan
