Be friendly to yourself as well as others

Care about others. But let go of caring about what they think of you

Be like water. Find a gentle, natural way round whatever emerges

You can’t change what happened in the past, so focus on finding the best way forward from here

Rest isn’t the opposite of progress, it’s the essential foundation for it

Still can’t quite believe I’ve written a book! I spent years on this because I truly believe in these ideas. All around us we see people who aren’t at peace with themselves or each other. But by combining self-care AND caring for others, we really can make life happier together

Focus on doing what you can, with what you’ve got, where you are. Let go of the other stuff

Great communicators paraphrase back what the other person says, to check they’ve understood and help them feel heard

Sometimes happiness comes from enjoyable moments. Other times from purposeful activities. Both matter

To focus on things that really matter, you need to be willing to say no to other distractions

Did you know our Solar System is moving through space at around 230 km per second? That means every year, we travel billions of kilometres together through the Milky Way. So even when life feels stuck or uncertain, we’re always moving forward.

Remember: People in need of love sometimes show it in unloving ways

Going by car? Remember, you aren’t just in traffic, you ARE traffic 🚘 Going for a walk? Remember, you aren’t just in nature, you ARE nature 🌱

Ask yourself: What do I need to let go of to free up space for what really matters right now?

Yes it feels good to get the thing done, but remember to enjoy doing the thing. If we just focus on the outcome we may miss the joy along the journey

Be confident enough to try, humble enough to adapt and consistent enough to keep going

Reduce stress by freeing up time. Are there any upcoming commitments you could cancel to make space for what matters?

Whenever possible, assume positive intent. This has a profound impact on how we approach people or problems

I love this insight from the science of ‘behavioural activation’. We don’t need to wait for motivation before taking action. Changing what we do changes how we feel

Spend less time with people where you need to put on a show & more time with people where you can be yourself

Follow your heart, but remember to take your brain with you

Being fully present is often more helpful than being fully productive

This is not a rehearsal, it’s your one precious life. Try to appreciate and make the most of today, even if things are difficult or don’t go to plan

Spending time in nature makes us better humans

You never need to apologise for how you feel. But you can take responsibility for how you respond

Let it be what it is, rather than what you think it should be. Then try to make the best of the situation

Make sure your daily patterns are aligned with your future hopes. Small steps each day add up to life-changing results

Listening is a form of love. Focus on what they’re really saying, rather than what you plan to say in reply

After an exhausting week it’s amazing how much getting outdoors can boost your mood and sort your head out (especially with blue sky & Charlie!)

Being enthusiastic is often more important than being talented. Being curious is often more important than being knowledgeable

Be intentional and do “single-tasking”. Not only is this more efficient than trying to do lots of things at once, it’s more rewarding too

The perspective you choose changes your experience

Listen respectfully to people you disagree with. This is far more effective in helping them see your perspective than telling them why they’re wrong

Often we only appreciate the value of good health when we get ill. So if you’re feeling well today, remember to be thankful (and spare a thought for those who aren’t so lucky)

We all make mistakes. Here’s how to apologise properly: take responsibility (no excuses), express genuine regret and show real intent to put things right

Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving 🌤️🚴‍♀️
