I got tired of tossing my coat on the chair and got a wall mounted coat rack I installed yesterday behind the door. An hour later I forgot this crucial fact. Which became apparent when I came in from taking the trash out and thought my coat was the Grim Reaper behind the door.

Its also really humbling to have students who are my age tell me that they respect me for treating them like peers as they walk a journey I did 20+ years ago. Education is for all at all ages.

Also, shaming folx who have earned a bachelor’s degree for going back to a community college clearly doesn’t understand the varied mission that we serve. Some of the most engaged students are career changers who come to the CC to make a pivot. Working 15+ years in this space I have seen a lot.

Next year really will be my 20 anniversary of graduating from college. My goodness.
