I know about leather! But Kallie is correct here. True leather is skin. Skin naturally wrinkles and shows wear with use, but this does not mean that it is weakening or aging. However, if dirt or sand gets in wrinkles, it can saw through the fibers, so we brush this when we can.

Had some hard conversations that dug up a lot of stuff. Because I'm me, I know how to cry into it and let it out. My girlfriend recognized it and trusted me to just let it out. We talked about how not everything is good and pretty. We have ugly. How people are not cruel for no reason.

Advice I got at longsword: now my job is to try stuff and fail. I need to go into duels trying new things and failing. Literally go in trying something and watching how it fails. My desire to win my bouts is literally unproductive, I need to experiment and get curious on how it fails. Oof

So I personally don't really do community and am just a hold my loved ones close kinda gal, but I think a lot of people end up burning themselves out trying to get stuff out of the kink scene that just isn't present, usually out of loneliness, and it just ends up hurting them.

Again, I think meeting and getting close to individuals from this can be good, but it's very much about making friends you can then interact with outside rather than putting all that into "the space"

Online spaces are awwwwful, by and large. Twitter/bluesky ones being passive is mostly alright (but most people are predominantly thinking about "content", not conversation) but the moment it becomes anything more permanent (e.g. a Discord) it's a huge mess.
