Today's culinary brain fart: adding toum (Lebanese garlic dip) to a béchamel (with or without parmesan or other cheese) makes a really good pasta sauce. I want to try it on its own on pasta next. Toum is fresh garlic, oil, lemon juice, and salt (in that order, whipped into an aioli sort of thing).

Another streamer I used to watch all the time evaporated a couple of years ago (like not just from the streaming platform, but existence it seemed). Super genuine, talented, and good human. They just did a stream today (that I missed, boo!) but I am so happy to hear that they are still kicking.

Today's showertime thought (amongst others): I like having a bit of chest hair because I can use it as a "scrubby" to get the soap off my hands after I have used it and before I rinse myself off. When I last had a long term partner, they would use my chest hair to do the same for their hands.

Had the last of the leftover turkey enchiladas with beans and rice I made on my livestream Monday for dinner today. Huge amount of effort to prepare, but my goodness it is so delicious! Topped the enchiladas with fresh cilantro and lettuce, crumbled feta, and sour cream thinned with milk. #cooking

Made stock yesterday with the turkey carcass (6 hour simmer), the veggie scraps and bones I collect in a ziploc in the freezer, and a bunch of seeds and leaf flavourings. First soup used the small bowl of stock, leftover stir fry and fried rice with some frozen corn, and Asian flavourings. #cooking

Turkey leftovers, round one. Offspring-the-Youngest (who is not young) made open faced hot turkey on pan-toasted challah-dough hamburger buns. Gravy from the roast turkey, leftover seasoned cubed rutabaga, and boiled frozen peas. Super filling and great comfort food on a snowy day. #cooking

A friend's birthday was today. We had pizza at my place, then watched their Blu-ray of Beat's "Neon Heart Disease Live" (King Crimson). All of the band were older than us, and we're old, so I steeled myself to be kind. No need. Their performance devastated us mentally and emotionally. Gobsmacked!

Dollar store ramen packet gone wild for lunch today. Added dried fried crispy onions, chili in oil with peanuts, rice vinegar, soy sauce, dried parsley flakes, a fried egg with salt and pepper, and some tomato slices I fried in the pan with it. Cost of ingredients: about $0.95 CAD.
