I have to agree with Canavan. I am sick to death of politicians in the senate getting elected for a party and then leaving that party. if she had been on the senate ballot as a liberal, she would have got fewer votes. so if she gets hit by a truck, which party then fills the vacancy?

Amazing how quickly some people on comfortable salaries dismiss $268 as 'vote-buying.' When you're barely getting by at $45K, thats not insignificantâthats 2-3 weeks of petrol or food. It's not the housing or Newstart fix we need, but surely small steps for low-income earners still matter.
