Apparently my record collection has grown - how did that happen?

A strange thing has happened. I had a #MS #Relapse and now I no longer need to use my glasses to read. Probably a short term effect but nice to have a positive output for a change.

Currently feeling sorry for myself as I’ve had an MS relapse and am on a course of steroids. On the plus side I’m enjoying a glass of 12 year old Cragganmore.

May have bought some records today 🤣

My record collection tells the story of my life better than I could in words. When I get nostalgic there is always a soundtrack and songs are usually the catalyst for my memories. Music has been there to drag me out of my darkest moments and add glitter to the best ones.

One of my greatest joys in life is discovering new bands. Recently came across an Australian band called Floodlights who I think are really good. youtu.be/YVraz8LbBiQ?...

There are people who enjoy organising their record collection. I am not one of them!

I've just voluntarily spent the last 20 minutes reading my work pension policy manual, like a proper grown up, and now I feel like I need to kick the telly in.

Slightly surreal day. Found out both the hair wax and aftershave I used to use when I was younger have been discontinued. I now feel bad in case me going bald or my wife preferring a different aftershave has had a negative effect on other people’s product choice 🤣.

Currently listening to my new favourite band, Lottery Winners. It’s been a long time since a record made me cry.

30 years ago I helped create the Liverpool music magazine Ultramotive. It lead to many adventures, most of which are now memories, some of which are long forgotten. So it was really nice earlier to be able to reminisce about being part of the music industry in the nineties.

The first time I ever wrote anything that got printed. I got sent the games (for free) by the magazine to provide tips on. I was only fourteen at the time. Getting free stuff in exchange for writing was something I would go on to do (a lot).

Four months ago my oldest and closest friend died of cancer. Today would have been her 53rd birthday. She was brilliant, opinionated, uncompromising, tactless and I’m still angry that she has gone.
