Kalter und teils nebliger Herbstmorgen an der #Donau in #Wien 🌫️ Bei 0 Grad Luft- und 14 Grad Wassertemperatur wird’s sichtbar: Verdunstung trifft Kälte – und der Seerauch tanzt über dem Wasser. ❄️🌊

Auch heute war das wieder eine ungewöhnlich kalte Nacht für Anfang Oktober: -3,6° selbst in Zwerndorf in 144m Höhe. Spitzenreiter wie so oft der Freiwald mit rund -9°. Vereinzelt gibt es heute sogar Kälterekorde für das erste Oktoberdrittel: -4,8° in Seckau oder -4,3° in Aflenz.

In Liebenau wurden heute -10 Grad nur knapp verfehlt. Im Westen steigen die Temperaturen aber bereits an, bei auffrischendem Westwind verläuft die kommende Nacht im ganzen Land deutlich milder, etwa in Wien mit Tiefstwerten um +10 Grad.

Time for an oldie - a photo taken the 1st time I ever visited the south-east of #Iceland (4th visit to the country). It was a very miserable day, & I barely saw any of the wonders due to low cloud, but occasionally it lifted & was very atmospheric. Had better views on the return journey! March 2012.

In Sachen #Temperatur war der #September rund 1,3°C wärmer als die langjährige Referenzperiode 1961 - 1990. Die Abweichungen im Süden etwas geringer als im Norden und bis auf einen Zeitraum um den 17. - 21. eher gewöhnliche Temperaturabweichungen.

Seltene Kälte: Die ungewöhnlichsten Temperaturen in Europa gibt es heute am Balkan. Teilweise liegen sie ganze 18° unter dem Mittel für diese Jahreszeit. So fallen in Teilen Serbiens jetzt zu Mittag noch immer Schneeflocken bis 200m herunter.
