looks like metro's new subway trains are back in service after a few weeks - for anyone looking to ride one toggle the "vehicle" layer on @catenarymaps.org and look for a 400 series vehicle on the D Line to see its location

Pasadena Transit is free Friday 10 January 2025, on reduced service. Los Angeles Metro is also free for all underground, tram, and bus service. Santa Monica Big Blue Bus is free for the rest of the week, including Sunday 12 January. A Line still using shuttle buses between Filmore & SW Museum.

We added two new cities to Catenary Maps today! Track any bus in realtime! Rennes, Bretagne, France 🇫🇷 Münster, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland 🇩🇪

Deutsche Bahn doesn't want to share their timetable data :( We emailed them last month for data for S-Bahn and Intercity rail (ICE). They said they only sold the data to authorised companies and there's no open license, though they plan to publish open eventually, but couldn't share when.

We should be installing these kerbs in London to prevent morons parking their cars on the pavement.

Really enjoying following how late my Amtrak Floridian is getting with the help of @catenarymaps.org!

Catenary Maps provides comprehensive alert information from across the globe, including links to agency information, detailed explanations, and cause and effects. This feature is available worldwide and in 12 languages.

We've added Toronto's 3 subway lines back onto the map! TTC initially provided us 2 sets of data, a surface streetcar + bus with realtime data, and a schedule without realtime data. Today, we were able to merge both datasets by filtering the plain schedule for only the 3 metro lines.

A look at one of our ingestion servers: We download over 300 GB of data per day of realtime public transport data! Bandwidth often spikes to 300Mb/s. On the right, you can see the agencies currently querying.

We added Renfe, España (Spain) to Catenary Maps! (Note that track data is coming in a few weeks, so we draw straight lines between stations for now) Our map of European rail travel is growing!!!

Ooops, looks like Malaysia KTMB accidentally used km/h instead of meters/s on their data, making it appear like their trains are travelling 0.3 mach
