Being a writer in any genre requires haunting your own life. I’m very grateful to Allison Joseph and Crab Orchard Review for publishing my poem about nostalgia and regret, and the spectral risk of digging though memory to tell a story.

I’m so grateful to announce that my debut poetry collection Fathom will be published next year as part of the Propel Disability Poetry series! This collection explores what it means to live in chronic pain, drowning in a sea of misdiagnosis and shipwrecked by medical sexism.

A few years ago, I was sent to a hip specialist for an MRI referral. He said I was fine compared to the sports injuries he usually treated and denied it. Eventually I received the imaging and discovered I need a hip replacement. Thanks to Grist for publishing my revenge poem about medical sexism!
