042. Cocteau Twins - Milk & Kisses And that's it for my Cocteau Twins #vinyl! All studio albums plus a single, a comp, and one collab. Grateful they've reissued all these so I could complete the set! One of my favorite bands, hands down. Quite the catalog!

041. Cocteau Twins - Four-Calendar Café I'm not sure when I really heard "Bluebeard" but it was a shock to not only understand a Cocteau Twins lyric, but especially one as pointed as "Are you the right one for me? Or are you toxic for me?" A good extension of their sound.

040. Cocteau Twins - Heaven Or Las Vegas I thought I posted these last three. Guess not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯😄 I think this was the album that got them more popularity in the U.S., "alternative" radio was big at the time. I like this album, but I gravitate more toward the earlier ones for some reason.

039. Cocteau Twins - Blue Bell Knoll After Pink Opaque, definitely the album by them that I know the best. And that's because of a girl. 😄 Some of our favorite music is tied up in relationships of one kind or another, and Carolyn's Fingers always brings me back to CSU in winter 1989.

As a massive Smiths fan (and equally massive Morrissey despiser now), I would love nothing more than to see this actually happen, Rick Astley buy the Smiths catalogue (or I'm assuming at least partner with Johnny Marr in it) and give the legacy back to the fans. Moz will ask too much money, tho.

I went on a (surprisingly, to me) shallow Eddie Money jag a couple weeks back, Jeff's column here details why it was so shallow. But like Jeff, respect to a guy who found his niche, made some hay, and never stopped.

038. Cocteau Twins & Harold Budd - The Moon and The Melodies It's not technically billed as CT & HB, but it's Elizabeth, Robin, & Simon, so close enough. 😄 This was just reissued on #vinyl last year, mine's from 1986 though. Never really knew Harold Budd aside from this, but this is gorgeous.

037. Cocteau Twins - Love's Easy Tears single. (incl. Orange Appled, Sigh's Smell of Farewell, & Those Eyes, That Mouth) Bought this #vinyl way back when as well, when my Cocteau fanaticism had firmly taken hold. I bought these without hearing them. I knew previous songs & that was enough for me.

035. Cocteau Twins - The Pink Opaque I didn't know when I bought my first @cocteauofficial.bsky.social #vinyl album that it was a compliation created for the U.S. Nevertheless, the songs on this remain some of my favorites, and all in one place. What a band. What a voice.

034. Cocteau Twins - Treasure No surprise I like this album, it contains one of my favorite songs of all time (top 5, easy) - "Lorelei" The first two albums are so good but this gets to a next level for me. The sound that Robin achieved on the drum machine on this is so perfect.

Am I depressed? Or am I just going through the Rhino site and loading up my cart for no reason? 😂 I laughed after I put the 2nd t-shirt in there because I realized I was just mindlessly doing this when I have lots of other stuff I should be doing. 😄 🤪

033. Cocteau Twins - Head Over Heels This was one I didn't get until recently. Not as familiar with this album as I am with others, I know "Musette and Drums" from The Pink Opaque compilation (which I've had on #vinyl since the 80s!) and love that song's wall-of-sound chaos.

Sam got me thinking about @cocteauofficial.bsky.social and today quickly turned into an extremely chill yet productive day. Elizabeth Fraser, Robin Guthrie, Siobhan de Mare, Martina Topley-Bird, etc. for 6+ hours and counting.

032. Cocteau Twins - Garlands Early post today because starting the day with "Blood Bitch" is kinda perfect. ☺️ I'm going to enjoy the next week or so because I now have all the Cocteaus studio albums on #vinyl, as well as some singles, and Cocteau Twins are one of my favorite bands of all time.

I'm sure that Joe Strummer would have loved the red Target Exclusive vinyl with the poster inside. 😂 I got my original over the 1982 holidays, man I wore that thing out. "Straight To Hell" is a Christmas song.

029. The Cars - Shake It Up Discussed this album on the podcast I used to be on, my last pick, actually. (link in 🧵) #vinyl is kind of worn out, I listened to this a ton back when I got it. Great album opener, great b-side songs, listen to the podcast for more of my feelings/opinions. 😂

028. The Cars - Panorama Cool cover, I knew checkered flags from watching Speed Racer. 😄 For the longest time I only really liked "Touch And Go" from this record, but there's a few tasty licks here and there. Cover isn't quite as trashed, but the inner sleeve is split again.

The cover is trashed - way more than most of the older albums in my collection. #Vinyl sounds ok but the inner sleeve is split so it just rolls right out. 025. Jimmy Buffett - Songs You Know By Heart - Jimmy Buffett's Greatest Hit(s) I'm not sure if I love all these songs because they're on this collection, or if I love this #vinyl because it's all my favorite pre-1980 songs by him, but this is a great place to start if you're not familiar.

024. Jimmy Buffett - One Particular Harbor Didn't intend on making this a Jimmy Buffett day but why not. 😄 Another reissue, this one on "lavender daydream" purple #vinyl. Wasn't too long after this that I kinda checked out of the Buffett catalog, but he was an original to the end. 🦜

023. Jimmy Buffett - Havaña Daydreamin' This is my dad's original #vinyl. There's a corner cutout, so I assume this was a promo copy sent by my uncle Jon. We got a lot of records that way. 😎 The vinyl still sounds great, I don't know that my dad even listened to it that much back then.

010. Bay City Rollers - Greatest Hits Nothing but bangers on this record. Such a fun listen. “Rock & Roll Love Letter” is one of my earliest favorite songs, it’s the little guitar lick between verse lines. This is my sister’s #vinyl but whatever. I bought this on CD too. Great pop songs.
