Hey hey, it's Nakayoshi to Issho for the Nintendo Famicom for #RandomGameSaturday . I've never made it very far in this due to the language barrier, but it's pretty cute. I've not played the part featuring Sailor Moon, either, since it isn't until the end of the game.

I can back up that claim of snazziness.

Here is Maniac Mansion for the Nintendo Famicom for #RandomGameSaturday. Jaleco released it with this weird case design with a removable dust cover. This is an entirely different port than the NES version. If you know the game well enough, you can brute-force your way without knowing Japanese.

Played through Frequency (PS2) on Normal mode. Good times. I remembered the game was really strict on timing, but wow, harsher than I remembered. Got through a few songs on Expert mode now but not sure I'll stick with it. Getting to the "more frustrating than fun" part and I'm too old for that now.

Finally got Wrecking Crew levels rendering correctly. What an annoying layout algorithm they made for themselves.

Oh my God these concrete ladders. If you stack two of them, you have to change not only the middle tile, but also the bottom tile of the top one and top tile of the bottom one. I am so angry on behalf of these coders. Dumb requirements ruining a clean algorithm.

For #cibsunday I present the Famicom Datach. It was a device you could plug into the cartridge slot to add a barcode reader. It also had its own tiny cartridge slot for its tiny game carts. The pack-in title was a Dragonball Z game, hence why Goku is everywhere.

So check this screenshot from Wrecking Crew for the Famicom. In the middle, I have a bunch of ladders. Do you see how the floor above them changes depending on the item above it? This greatly complicates what would otherwise be a pretty easy rendering algorithm, and I'm sure the coders were pissed.

Every time I load up Bluesky on my phone, I see this "What's Up" widget and immediately start humming that Four Non Blondes song. And/or that He-Man parody video of that Four Non Blondes song.

As my mastery of the Famicom Excitebike tape format continues, I have moved on to doing stupid things. For example, this is a track that is 26,265 tiles of grass. The bikes move super slow and it is so long that the timer maxes out and ends the level before you can finish it.
