I genuinely love opening Bsky every morning and seeing my feed full of lovingly human-made art and stories in all manner of styles and genres, be it professionals, hobbyists, original, fanart/fic, anything. Everything is so bleak nowadays but human art and writing still makes my heart smile.

My writing advice is to make the drafts unhinged and funny to read TO YOU. Yes, you should write something to edit but nothing is stopping you to make your characters make meme references or add your own comments to footnotes. As said; you will edit everything anyway, you can make it silly!

I think the bulk my efforts learning to draw were bic mechanical pencils and spiral notebooks. I didn't start using nice supplies for like, years. This isnt even work I ever showed anyone and I doubt I'm alone in that. You can also do some beautiful work with bic pens with enough practice.
