I'm kind of a transgender matriarch. I transitioned in 1983, the Reagan Era, and kept my teaching job with the Baltimore City Public Schools in Maryland, USA. Here's an image from my first year of teaching as my authentic self. It's hard to believe that that was 41 years ago.
