The National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park & the volunteers that run them are superb! It's so wonderful to see working (replicas) of Alan Turing's Bombe, Bill Tutte's Tunny machine & Heath Robinson.. and of course Tommy Flower's COLOSSUS.

Staying at a beautiful hotel in Funchal, Madeira. Famed General William Carr Beresford used this place as his headquarters during Britain's 'friendly' occupation of Madeira during the Napoleonic wars. His huge sideboard is still here in the aptly name Beresford Restaurant.

OTD 80 years ago at Meiktila-a number of all-arms sweeps went out to find the Japanese 18 Div. One moved northeast towards Mandalay, at the village of Wundwin, 1/7 Gurkhas had a running battle in a dried up river filled with scrubby bushes, fighting Japanese troops hand to hand.
