Bike Commuting tip #1: If you hear an unfamiliar noise from your bike, even if it's running smoothly, STOP to investigate! In 2017, I thought nothing of a metallic twang I heard, which turned out to be a bungy cable disconnecting and working its way into my derailleur. What a wipeout that was!
