I've thought a lot about community disconnectedness and in particular the decline of participation in intergenerational communities in recent years. This piece considers the nihilism at the core of ever more individualistic ways of being through an exploration of the writings of mass murderers.

There are 396 shelter beds for an est. <2000 neighbours sleeping rough in #ldnont. Resting spaces are being restricted from business areas. Grassroots neighbourhood organizations in struggling through funding cuts from Community Grants. And there is NO Winter Response plan this year.

Took a rare Friday off to spend a PA Day with my kids, and a fully free day without the drudgery of usual chores and routines was just so lovely. We had a great time for our last morning at the "old" #ldnont Children's Museum and then I snuggled my near-6yo watching a movie as toddler napped. 10/10.

I don't think there's a big London, ON #ldnont presence here yet, but: I am so full of rage between the city's upcoming budget slashing the grants that fund grassroots agencies and council making it harder for Ark Aid to serve unhoused Londonders while ALSO not having any plan for winter response
