Bad hamstring and two days removed from the flu one of the smartest races I’ve ever run.

The weather is setting up warmer and more humid than I had hoped for tomorrow. My body wants to run hard but my brain has to run smart.

I drove past Dooky Chase today and saw all the people in line for Holy Thursday (I knew a bunch of you but I wasn’t in a position to stop) and was a little sad I had to work and couldn’t get gumbo z’herbes and fried chicken but I have my memories

Yesterday I was enjoying the hell out of these cracklin when a girl from Portland asked me what they were. So I gave her one to try and she got so excited she gestured wildly and knocked the rest out of my hand. I felt like Ralphie from A Christmas Story watching the lugnuts in the air🤣

Man I had a full day of New Orleans yesterday. FQF, snacks at St Roch Market, tried a new bar Iota, went and saw @joyclarkmusic.bsky.social at the Dew Drop, had a burger at Beachcorner then closed it out at Nightbloom. Why do I think I’m 33 and not 53 🤣

I was searching my hard drive tonight for another photo and found this one I made of Pableaux a year ago. I still can’t believe he’s gone.

Been slowly rehabbing a hamstring injury I suffered in September. But I feel pretty good and I’m hitting my distances. Good training run today practicing for the Crescent City Classic.

I had Venezia pizza for dinner and Brocato’s gelato for dessert. Classic mid-city 1, 2 punch.

The craziest thing about me catching a Muses shoe is I wasn’t even trying to catch anything. I didn’t even have my hand up. But that lady stared me down like Derek Carr throwing into double coverage and somehow I caught it left handed because I had a beer in my right hand 🤣
