I know good people who don't post on social media anymore because their jobs require US travel. For every journalist arrested, there are a hundred who second guess the story they're about to write. That's the point of the arrests and border searches. They're not trying to convict, just to chill.

As a constituent I wrote to my MP, Evan Solomon to express how disappointing it is that he uses Twitter to provide Canadian citizens with government communications while Grok is making CSAM easily available on the same app. This is his response, and errr my slightly annoyed rebuttal at the end.

I do think that one of the root causes of American malaise and distrust is that very few people live in vibrant, diverse communities that encourage neighbourly interaction. It's much harder to hate people when they stop and ask you about your kids etc. If you're always in your car that can't happen.

It's almost impossible to use Twitter without having Nazi material and GenAI CSAM/"put her in a bikini" appear in your feed, so if you're still actively posting there I have to assume you're OK with seeing that stuff. I think it says a lot that @evansolomon.bsky.social hangs out there.

One can only assume that @evansolomon.bsky.social considers his relationship with Twitter to be more important than Canada's relationship with the UK and Australia.
