Why does my tinnitus get so much worse when I'm sick?

Tested negative for COVID but I have something gnarly. I've had SOMETHING in my throat all day -- feels like phlegm but I don't know. Then came the aches and the throbbing -- I could feel it in my teeth. Now the aches are gone but my nose is starting to run and whatever's in my throat is acting up.

I feel at the top of my game right now, which is not a feeling I EVER get to have. Just turned in the first draft of a pilot for an animated show, the pitch deck before. Initial response to both is really good. If you need someone to write your movie, TV show, or comic, look over here.

Polishing a draft and it seems that I am cheating on my wife with the word, "suddenly." It's driving me crazy.

Started reading DC's #Absolute collections. I'm going to say that I am far more accepting of new interpretations of #WonderWoman than of #Batman in general, perhaps because I didn't grow up a huge WW fan. But I came to love the character and the Absolute version is EXCELLENT (so far).

Denise Gough not getting an Emmy nomination is a crime against the Empire. In fact, all of the women in Andor brought it in particular this season: Genevieve O'Reilly, Faye Marsay, Elizabeth Dulau, and especially Adria Arjona all deserve every possible accolade. But Gough's is the biggest snub.

Despite the recent publication of my first book and 14 years publishing a webcomic, when I think of writing these days, animation's the first thing that comes to mind. What my mental health looks like

A Baby Boomer-aged white lady walked up to us and said, "Happy 4th of July, I guess. Doesn't feel like it." I didn't realize how much I needed to hear words like that from a person like that.

Any discussion of me as a writer has to begin with my biggest and most ambitious work: Hunter Black. (Link at the end of this🧵.) Along with my partner William Orr, I wanted to make a story that combined two of my favorite genres (there's that word again): swords and sorcery fantasy and film noir.

Who am I as a writer? I love GENRE. Fantasy, horror, superheroes, SF -- every story seems to filter through my brain with one of these attached. 1/3
