Moritz Seider spent a year in the AHL and then another in the SHL before he was NHL-ready. Edvinsson needed two years in the AHL, Harley required three. Reinbacher has played 34 games in the AHL so far. He needs more seasoning. That's neither disappointing nor surprising.

I see some people being a bit hard on David Reinbacher. Just a reminder that most defencemen, especially tall, lanky ones, take a while to develop. Most of them reach their peak when they are around 26 or 27 years old.

A few thoughts: Kapanen on the 1st line is not a surprise. He played very well during the rookie showcase and I believe the team is rewarding him with an opportunity. Farrel - Beck - Mesar. 3 players that need to show the Habs something on the same line.

As was the case in his first scrimmage, Arber Xhekaj is really standing out in his second one. He’s moving faster than we’ve seen him move at this level, or maybe it just seems that way because he’s moving so confidently and decisively. He looks like he’s doing everything faster.

Real emotional night for my family. My mom’s grandchildren got together to surprise her at home with a wonderful supper. She has lived with dementia for a while now and these moments are incredibly special to her while she can still somewhat enjoy them.
