As someone who hasn’t been to Starbucks in well over a year, boycotting only seem hard at first. There are always alternatives, and most of the time they are better quality.

I am 32 and lost my parents 10 years ago. I wish they were here for many reasons, but I mostly miss talking to them, getting guidance from them. People don’t realize what a gift it is to have someone who can give you advice based on experience. It is worth more than money.

That being said how do white people do the work to bridge that gap? Because yes it is our job as white people to mend those relationships and foster inclusion in all of our spaces. White people need to stop waiting for someone to save them and do it themselves.

I attended the 50501 protest at my state capitol yesterday, and while I of course enjoyed the energy. I found the lack of diversity to be a little unsettling. I have found that my largest criticism of white fronted movements is always the lack of inclusion of groups from all backgrounds.
