This morning, I was thinking about Martin Luther King Jr.’s statement about how hate can’t drive out hate, only love can. Thinking I should post about the love and light that’s working to drive out hate and darkness instead of just reposting the scary stuff we all already know about. Yeah?

Library Tale: Twice this week folks said they hadn’t gone to a library in years, but had come in now because they felt the need for community “with everything going on right now.” When the world leaves you weary, come visit. We have fun programs and lots of stuff. All free. Everyone is welcome. ☮️

Library Tale: Mom thought her 2 year old was asleep…he quietly, thoroughly tore pages into small pieces. We were impressed at his motor skills and his work ethic. This is just him figuring things out. Mom was horrified and replaced the book. They’re switching back to board books for a while.

#UglyDogs. The Electoral votes were to be counted, 45 was denying election results, and right wing groups were in DC. So I kept my phone on the bird site that day, waiting. It began to buzz incessantly. I picked it up saw this. Then we all watched it happen in real time. And here we are.

Spouse and I watched Fackham Hall today. The first half was sly, slightly unhinged, and very funny; the second half was okay, something was a little off. Still, one of those movies you could watch a dozen time and still not catch all the little visual jokes or clever asides.

When I posted this, I thought Oh I’m being dramatic. I challenged myself to not delete it, to sit with it. Decided today: yes, four times I was hurt and yes, it’s valid, and yes, it’s gonna take a while. So be it. Am deeply grateful to my two best friends and my daughter. 🧡💛❤️🩷
