Men & their sound systems. Took me 20 minutes & 4 remotes to get sound on the TV in the living room. Between the sound bar & surround sound system, I feel like I need an engineering degree to watch TV the way my son has it set up.

Had some plants delivered Thursday. So I had to get out & work in the yard this morning. Planted a camellia, a tomato, & 3 roses. Set up anti-rabbit cages around the roses. Broke down some branches. Watered the newly planted plants. It is hot & humid out there! I’ve showered & will be resting now.

Stores here seem to be out of Roma tomatoes. Anyone else finding your produce sections have no Roma tomatoes?

We forgot Milo’s boat. Luckily, I had a similar size bin storing some yarn. It is now Milo’s boat away from home.

So glad we stopped early yesterday. Turns out the detour I was too tired to deal with was because a brush/forest fire closed I-40 just east of where we stopped for the night. The trees were charred & the ground was still smoking when we drove through the area after leaving the hotel.

We are home! I’ve driven 2269 miles since Saturday morning. Moved in & out of 3 hotel rooms. Helped the college grandgirl move stuff into her apartment. I am beat! Will be so nice to shower in my own shower & sleep in my own bed tonight. Glad I don’t go back to work until Monday.

Car packed. Cats did great. Just got gas. About 9 hours from home.

Lots of long stretches of beautifully paved roadway on I-40, compared to 4 years ago when I made this drive. Thanks to Biden’s infrastructure bill, according to the roadside signs. And the work is continuing.
