(9/12) There are Pseudodragon breeds for hunting game, lighting candles, and stoking hearths; here you can see how humans have modified the dragons' natural hunting pattern to emphasize desired "steps" in the each breeds' pattern and diminish undesired behaviors.

(8/12) All throughout #Smaugust I worked on Fire in the Highlands—but because I wanted to draw EVEN MORE dragons, I made this series detailing pseudodragons, their smaller cousins that have been domesticated by humans for a number of different purposes.

Sketches for the third character (of three ) for the main cast of Ancestral. I'm pretty satisfied with this page, I think the character is pretty clear in my mind now.

I just figured their kids are friends so they know each other and that’s why they’re next to each other, I didn’t even necessarily feel like they were friends themselves. But I like the idea that they might be partners.

(3/12) Fire in the Highlands takes place in a small alpine glen, over one day. You might wonder how an artist might keep track of the position of the sun relative to the characters as they travel—so here's the map I used for that very purpose, on the first half of the book.

Two soldiers from the Domekan garrison take it upon themselves to harass a local talisman peddler on the streets of Karazad. But more caution is in order- one who walks these haunted streets bare-faced may hold powerful magics of their own…
